Reading in bed just got an upgrade. In this workshop, you'll sew a custom pillowcase with a built-in front pocket designed to hold your book, Kindle, or phone — so it's always right where you left it when you're ready for one more chapter.

It's cozy. It's practical. It's the most Pages & Ink project we've ever taught.

This one's a step up from our other workshops — you'll be working with bias tape to get those clean, polished edges — but we'll walk you through every single step. If you've taken a beginner sewing class before (or just have a little machine time under your belt), you're ready for this.

In three hours, you'll walk away with a finished pillowcase you'll use every single night, new skills that'll level up every project you sew after this, and bragging rights for making something this clever yourself.

What you'll learn:

  • Working with multiple fabric panels and keeping everything aligned
  • Applying bias tape for clean, professional-looking edges
  • Sewing a structured pocket flap that actually functions
  • Finishing a project that looks store-bought, not handmade

What's included: All materials including bias tape, a pattern to take home, and good company at Conway's favorite bookish hangout.

What to bring: Your sewing machine and its power cord. Some basic sewing experience is helpful — if you've sewn a straight seam before, you're in great shape.

Skill level: Beginner-friendly with a little challenge built in. Some prior machine time recommended.

Seats are limited. Reserve yours before they're gone.
